Planea Congreso de Nayarit garantizar una lactancia materna de calidad

•Diputadas y diputados estudian reformas para sancionar a empleadores que no respeten el derecho de las mujeres en periodo de lactancia

Tepic, 01 de junio de 2022.- Para garantizar que las madres trabajadoras y sus hijos tengan acceso a una lactancia materna de calidad, la Honorable Cámara de Diputados de Nayarit que preside la legisladora Alba Cristal Espinoza Peña, iniciará los trabajos parlamentarios para considerar las reformas a diversos artículos de la Ley para la Protección, Apoyo y Promoción de la Lactancia Materna, en materia de infracciones y sanciones.

En relación con lo anterior, se propone que si los empleadores del sector público y privado no respetan el derecho de las mujeres trabajadoras que se encuentran en periodo de lactancia, serán sujetos a sanciones administrativas; toda vez que en la norma se estipulan los derechos de las madres e hijos para acceder a lactancia materna, se tienen obligaciones para los centros de trabajo, pero no para jefes y patrones.Ver entrada

En el mismo contenido de la iniciativa se propone favorecer a las madres con transporte o acompañamiento que faciliten su traslado durante el periodo de lactancia que tenga dentro de la jornada laboral, considerando también la disponibilidad de extractoras de leche.

Una más de las modificaciones a la Ley para la Protección, Apoyo y Promoción de la Lactancia Materna es que se propone incluir dentro de los artículos los Diez Pasos para una Lactancia Exitosa, los cuales deberán cumplir las instituciones públicas y privadas prestadoras de los servicios de salud.

La lactancia materna se define como la forma más adecuada y natural de proporcionar aporte nutricional, inmunológico y emocional al bebé, ya que les aporta todos los nutrientes y anticuerpos que lo mantendrán sano.

De acuerdo a la UNICEF, en Nayarit la duración promedio de la lactancia fue de 9.5 meses y de 9.2 meses a nivel nacional, la edad de incorporación de alimentos distintos a la leche materna, por distribución porcentual fue de 58.6 por ciento de recién nacidos en Nayarit lo hicieron antes de los dos meses, el 24.4 por ciento de los dos a los tres meses, y el 14.5 por ciento de los 4 a 7 meses. Al argumentar la propuesta de reforma a la Ley para la Protección, Apoyo y Promoción de la Lactancia Materna se destaca que el apoyo y promoción de la lactancia materna en el trabajo incrementa la eficiencia, productividad y reduce el ausentismo, debido a que las mujeres que lactan tienen menos ausencias en sus trabajos ya que sus bebés se enferman menos.
